The initial version of ForecastEdge is aimed at European energy markets, as it predicts tomorrow morning’s 00Z ECMWF ensemble mean temperatures the prior afternoon, allowing for users to position themselves appropriately before market close. Future versions will address other models that are more relevant to North American and Asian markets.
AG2 is looking to leverage the ForecastEdge technology to other models in 2026 (AIFS, GFS, 12Z suite to address US markets) and will also be looking to apply to it to other variables, such as wind and solar.

But we understand the ask for adding other fields, and extending ForecastEdge features to other market-relevant parameters, such as wind and solar, is on our roadmap. We are presently working to include more weather variables within future iterations of ForecastEdge.

AIFS is becoming increasingly relevant in the energy trading space, as it is polarizing the attention due to some remarkable wins over legacy models lately. Adding a prediction of AIFS ensemble temperature moves is therefore something we commit ourselves to doing in the months ahead, as well as introducing predictions of other models such as GFS ensemble.
