WeatherMaker

Your Forecast, Your Way.

WeatherMaker puts you in control of the forecast. Combine models, adjust values, and craft a custom weather outlook that reflects your own expertise, not someone else’s. With seamless visualization and export options, your forecast becomes as unique and precise as your market strategy.

Because the best trades don’t come from having more forecasts, they come from trusting the one you’re using.

WeatherMaker redefines how trade floor meteorologists and weather-driven analysts craft their forecasts. Instead of relying solely on vendor or model outputs, users can now blend multiple forecast sources, including AG2’s industry-leading forecast, to create a custom view that reflects their expertise and intuition. With intuitive weighting tools, in-app edits, and seamless export to PNG and CSV formats, WeatherMaker transforms the once-manual, time-consuming process into a streamlined, professional experience. Integrated directly with AG2 Trader, it empowers users to present independent, data-driven forecasts with confidence and speed.

After hands-on demos with meteorologists from energy trading firms and weather analysis, they emphasized the product’s clear visualizations, manage workflows, and ease of blending and editing forecasts.

Product details

By selecting and adding “forecast sources” (AG2 forecast, models, saved user WXMK forecasts), users can weight these sources to what they believe will be correct for daily forecasts (day 1-15), and period forecasts (1-5, 6-10, 11-15, 1-7, 8-14 day, business week M-F). Users will also be able to manually edit values once forecast weighting has been selected, providing another layer of detail in terms of how they want to curate their forecast.

Users will be able to view their forecasts in both map form and table form. Table form will allow users to view the data “by period” which shows minimum, maximum, and average temperature forecasts for all of the user’s cities for the selected day or period. Users can also view data “by parameter” which will show all cities and all 15 days (or all periods), isolating the view to only show either minimum, maximum, and average temperature.

Once the user is satisfied with their forecast edits, they will be able to export their forecasts in either PNG or CSV format.

Additionally, customers who subscribe to WeatherMaker and AG2 Trader will be able to view their curated forecasts as a line within AG2’ Trader’s “Forecast Analysis” product.

You will also be able to upload third party or custom forecasts in WeatherMaker, giving you even more flexibility and customization.

Available in North America and Europe.

How It Works

Right: Users can choose from multiple forecast sources and assign each source a custom weight and can be adjusted in 5% increments for:

  • Daily forecasts: Days 1–15
  • Period forecasts: Days 1–5, 6-10, 11-15, Mon-Fri, etc.

Left: After setting their forecast weights, users can manually fine-tune values, such as nudging a region or individual city down by 2°, capturing microscale weather features that global models may overlook, giving them even greater control and precision in their final forecast.

Export and Integration

  • Seamless Export: Forecasts can be exported in two formats:
    • PNG format (for internal presentations/images).
    • CSV format (for internal ingestion, modeling, or other data projects).

AG2 Trader Integration: Customers who subscribe to both WeatherMaker and AG2 Trader can view their curated forecast as a line within AG2 Trader’s Forecast Analysis product.

For the Meteorologists:

Blend models, layer in your expertise, and publish a transparent, desk-ready forecast, without wrestling with 17 Excel tabs.

Why it works:

  • Your knowledge becomes a repeatable, scalable system

  • Custom-weight the models you trust (& quietly down-weight the ones you don’t)

  • Update fast when conditions shift

  • Finally, a tool that lets meteorologists be a meteorologist

The best part? Your custom forecast appears in AG2 Trader, right there with the AG2 forecast, ECMWF, and more.

Not a Meteorologist? No Problem...

WeatherMaker isn’t just about building the forecast—it’s about seeing it clearly.

Traders can view their meteorologist’s custom forecast in AG2 Trader side-by-side with raw models, ensemble spreads, and key drivers, all on one screen. No “Wait, which model are we trusting today?”
